Christine Matacic

Christine is a native of the Cincinnati area and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with concentrations in Administrative Management and Personnel Administration from the University of Cincinnati.

Ms. Matacic has been elected to four terms as a Liberty Township Trustee. In addition to her elected position, Ms. Matacic serves on a variety of boards and  committees that include the Ohio Kentucky Indiana Regional Council of Governments (Past President and Co-Chair of the Freight Working Group); Ohio Township Association (CLOUT Executive Committee Vice Chair and Legislative Committee); Butler County Township Association (Past President; Golf Outing Chair); West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance Government Issues; Butler County Chamber Caucus; Hamilton Rotary Science Fair Chair; C3 Board, Miami-2-Miami Regional Trail Committee and Natural Resources Assistance Council, District 10 Public Works Integrating Committee and Greenland Conservation Committee.  

In 2014 Ms. Matacic was recognized as a Woman of Excellence by the West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance. She was named one of 75 on the I-75 Growth Corridor in 2012 by Cincy Magazine and in 2008, 2009, and 2010 they recognized her as a Power 100 in the Greater Cincinnati Area. Ms. Matacic was given the President’s Award for outstanding leadership and service to the business community and volunteerism in our region from the West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance in 2011. 

Prior to becoming a trustee, Ms. Matacic served as a volunteer with the Mill Creek Watershed Council; Miami-2-Miami Coalition; Friends of Liberty Parks and Recreation; Liberty Township Trails Initiative; Liberty Township Parks; Liberty Township 4th of July; Lakota Local Schools PTA/PTOs; and as Lakota East High School Play Costume Coordinator/Designer. She has also written grants for Liberty Township Parks as well as for non-profit organizations.

Christine has been active with the Butler County Republican Party for the past 15 years.  She has served on the Executive Committee; Central Committee; Region Committee Chairperson for 3 years; and other Committees - Finance, Policy, and By-Laws.  She has worked with various local, county, state and national campaigns. Club
extensions of the party that Christine has been active with include the Butler County Women’s Republican Club, West Chester Liberty Republican Club, South East Butler County Republican Club and the Middletown Area Republican Club.

Her hobbies include:
Gardening - known for her salsas and jellies;    
Sewing - being one of 7 children, she taught herself how to make her own clothes in high school and had a business making doll clothes that fit American Girl type dolls; 
Traveling/Hiking - with family in various parts of the country and visiting family and friends are on Christine’s calendar on a regular basis. Washington, D.C., Chicago, Asheville, North Carolina and the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia are favorite areas to visit and hike.

Christine and her husband, John have been residents of Liberty Township, Butler County since 1981. They have two grown daughters.
